Foo Fighters Share New Track “The Sky Is A Neighborhood” + Its Video, directed by Dave Grohl

posted by Oscar August 23, 2017

Foo Fighters have unveiled the second song from forthcoming album, Concrete and Gold, along with its music video. The tune is entitled “The Sky Is A Neighborhood” and its visual was directed by leading man Dave Grohl.

The stadium-ready track has a Blues backbone boasting an anthemic vibe that will make many fans raise their fists and punch the air above them. Grohl describes the latest Foo record as “the biggest thing sonically that we’ve ever done,” which is funny because the song was recorded in a single afternoon by Grohl and fellow Foo Fighters Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear and Rami Jaffee.

In a press release, Grohl goes on to say “One night I was lying out looking up at stars… Just imagining all of these stars as places that have life on them as well, and I decided that the sky is a neighborhood, that we need to keep our shit together in order to survive in this universe full of life. But I had no music yet. I just had the title. So everyday I would walk around, kind of humming this thing in my head.”

For the music video, together with director of photography Brandon Trost and with production by Therapy Studios, the band made an eye-catching mini-epic with a sci-fi theme. Check it out above. Continue Reading

Foo Fighters Release New Song and Video: “Run”

posted by Oscar June 1, 2017

The press release this morning said it best… “SURPRISE ! HOLY F@#$KING SH&T!” That’s right, Foo Fighters are back, baby! The legendary Rockers have made a surprise return today releasing a new song called “Run,” along with its music video.

The anthemic track, their first new Foo Fighters music since the band gifted fans with the free Saint Cecilia EP in late 2015, is a real force to be reckoned with and I can easily see this being the Rock song of the summer! It’s got this energy that’ll make you headbang till your neck gives out, but at least you’ll still be holding up those devil horns.

The music video was directed by lead singer Dave Grohl, and it features the band as old folks kicking some serious ass performing for their peers at the retirement home. The crowd responds as well anyone should when seeing awesome Foo performance… Lookout for the “Thriller”-like choreography at the end. Low-key, I’ve always hated the thought of getting old… but if this is what my future looks like, then my opinion on this whole aging thing has completely changed.

Check out the video, which is as good any classic visual they’d released in the past, above and see some cover art for the song and video below. Continue Reading

Foo Fighters Release Official Band Announcement Video About Their (Non-) Breakup

posted by Oscar March 2, 2016

The Foo Fighters have finally unveiled that official band announcement they had teased last night, and the big reveal really was worth the wait!

So after that Oscars appearance over the weekend, rumors started circling that the band would be breaking up due to supposed indifferences between Grohl and drummer Taylor Hawkins, and that Dave would be going solo. So, the group released an official band announcement via a video on YouTube which addresses all of the rumors… The Foos proved they’re some of the biggest trollmasters ever as the clip shows Grohl as a diva, while the rest of the guys search for new lead singers and ultimately give Nick Lachey a try-out as they play “Everlong.” What a stroke of genius! See the video above.

And just in case you didn’t get the message (or didn’t want to wait until the end, just look at the image below with the final announcement.

Video: Foo Fighters Bring Out Jewel to Cover Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love”

posted by Oscar September 28, 2015

The Foo Fighters continue their tour and it’s become pretty much expected that they bring out some sort of special guest for a live cover after the band has so far performed onstage with artists like HAIM with Stevie Nicks, John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin) and Roger Taylor (Queen) as a “Superdupergroup,” and Cheap Trick’s Rick Nielsen.

During their show in Phoenix the band welcomed to the stage Jewel to do a rendition of Led Zeppelin’s classic “Whole Lotta Love.” There’s no way you can’t love this!
