As we near the end of the year it’s about the time to look back at the goals that left the world with mouths agape and minds blown. FIFA has officially announced the top 10 goals that are nominated for the 2015 PUSKÁS Award, AKA the award given for the best goal of the year!

Making the list are Messi’s ridiculous goal against Bilbao in the Copa Del Rey final, Alessandro Florenzi and Carli Lloyd’s half-field goals in the Champions League and Women’s World Cup Final, respectively, and Philippe Mexes’ scissor kick in the derby against Inter Milan.

Alex Morgan Covers FIFA 16 with Lionel Messi

The U.S. Women’s National Team continues making history now by way of star forward Alex Morgan becoming the first woman to star on the cover of EA Sports’ FIFA franchise.

Weeks ago brought the news that FIFA 16 will allow users to play as Women’s National Teams for the first time in the FIFA franchise. Players can choose from 12 teams and compete* in Match Day, an Offline Tournament, and Online Friendly Matches.

Available teams: Germany, USA, France, Sweden, England, Brazil, Canada, Australia, Spain, China, Italy, Mexico.

*Women’s National Teams compete exclusively against other Women’s National Teams.

FIFA 16 is due out September 2015 and will be available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 & PlayStation 3.

The 2014 World Cup draw has just finished and the group stage has been set. For US fans, there’s really bad news… A group of death features our home country fighting Germany, Portugal and Ghana (the team that eliminated them in the last World Cup).

With the World Cup just a few months away, we finally know a bit about what’s going down in Brazil next June. So start packing, make your guesses for the brackets and there’s always room for some more praying that your team finds a way out of the group stage.

Lionel Messi Wins Fourth Ballon D’Or Award

Lionel Messi has beat out Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona teammate Andres Iniesta to win the 2012 Ballon D’Or award for the best player of the year.

Messi scored 91 goals between team and country and won a Copa Del Rey in 2012.

With this year’s title the Argentinian player has won his 4th straight title as best player in the world, the first ever to win as many titles, making him the greatest winner of the award of all time.

Just like last year, the finalists were once again FC Barcelona teammates Andres Iniesta and Lionel Messi (current and 3-time Ballon D’Or winner) plus fellow La Liga player, Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo.
