Dopest Live Shows of 2014

posted by Oscar December 23, 2014

For the final post of our year-end list series we name the Dopest Live Shows of 2014. The best thing about making this list is that we get to look back at the year that was and have it serve as a little reminder that we got to experience some excellent concerts. Much like every year since we’ve been in existence, we largely attended shows in our home city of Chicago, but this 2K14 we had the chance to attend a couple of festivals in cities like Austin, Minneapolis and NYC, that wound up being some of the best experiences ever.

From club gigs to world-renowned major festivals, here are the Dopest Live Shows of 2014. Continue Reading

Video: Eminem Brings Out Rihanna at Lollapalooza 2014

posted by Alberto August 2, 2014

It was tough deciding whether to watch Eminem or Arctic Monkeys when the Lolla schedules were announced, but I definitely don’t regret my decision. I am a huge fan of the new Arctic Monkeys album (AM), but how could I pass on watching a living legend in Hip Hop live in my city? Em performed all of his hits from “The Way I Am” to “My Name Is” to “Toy Soldier” and even some of his later hits like “Not Afraid.” The real highlight of the night had to be Eminem bringing out Rihanna to the stage to perform “Love The Way You Lie,” “The Monster” and to my surprise, “Stan.” Fans got a preview of what to expect from their upcoming mini-tour together.

Watch their performance of “Stan” up above. The other two performances can be found below.  Continue Reading

Today we learn that the bill also boasts POD-favorites like Chance The Rapper, Nas, Childish Gambino, Young The Giant, AFI and Vic Mensa. Oh, and Iggy Azalea and Jhene Aiko are coming through as well (my, my). There you have it, and now the countdown begins.
