J. Cole has announced that will be releasing a new documentary, again using music from the latest NC rapper’s album, but now with a different focus. According to Entertainment Weekly, “The documentary promises to illustrate how their struggles over viable housing, voting laws for felons, integration, and more mirror the frustrations felt across the nation,” and it uses footage from cities like Baton Rouge and Fayetteville, North Carolina (Cole’s hometown).
The documentary is called J. Cole: 4 Your Eyez Only, A Dreamville Film, and it follows up Cole’s TIDAL documentary when his latest album was announced in December, Eyez.
The docu-film was directed by J. Cole and Scott Lazer, who also worked on J. Cole’s previous HBO doc, 2014 Forest Hills Drive: Homecoming.
