CLB – “Toxic”

posted by Ellena Rodriguez February 24, 2017

We are only 2 months into 2017 and things are looking pretty good for the homie CLBSo far this year, our local DJ has been featured on BBC1’s Diplo & Friends, started a techno project titled Night Fight with LA’s DJ Wall, along with getting so much love and support from big names like Diplo, Baauer, Dillon Francis, Brenmar, Anna Lunoe, and others.

CLB recently dropped a few tracks on Stanton Warrior’s label called Punks and Illeven:Eleven, and now he hooked us up at POD to drop his newest highly anticipated track titled Toxic. CLB stepped out of his comfort zone while making this track as it branches off from his usual style/genre, but still shares the same dope sound as all of his other work.

CLB is definitely one artist to look out for this year as he has an album with Night Fight in the making on top of forthcoming collabs with some big names from Chicago and London, along with a ton of solo projects in the works.

But for now, check out the premiere of Toxic down below!

When Diplo (producer behind Major Lazer) teams up with either MØ or Justin Bieber, you can expect a banger. From the MØ featured track “Lean On” to the Bieber collab “Where Are U Now”, Diplo has created straight hits in 2015. And now the trio has decided to come together to release a single for the Biebs titled “Cold Water”. The Ed Sheeran and Benny Blanco written track was released last night via Twitter, and now POD has it here for you to take a listen.

My Top Moments From Mad Decent Block Party 2015

posted by Ellena Rodriguez September 29, 2015

CB67qQPUsAAOyPDThis past Saturday, I was lucky enough to attend the Mad Decent Block Party which was held in Cicero at the Hawthorne Race Track. I love attending music festivals because it basically means listening to different artists all day long so I was pretty stoked about going to this show. And it did not disappoint me one bit. It hit higher than my expectations and all of the performers had the crowd hyped throughout the whole day. I came into the festival with the mindset that all of what I was about to hear was going to sound the same since the lineup predominately consisted of DJs. The variety of electronic music that I heard took me by surprise. Each performer had their own unique style that gave the audience different sounds to vibe with. With that being said…there were a lot of moments that not only left me but the crowd going crazy.

So check out my top moments from 2015’s Mad Decent Block Party down below.

Kranium Feat. Ty Dolla $ign – “Nobody Has To Know” (Major Lazer & KickRaux Remix)

Being one of my favorite music groups, Major Lazer has made the day a lot better by releasing their new remix of, “Nobody Has To Know’. Kranium and Ty Dolla $ign’s reggae-felt original track has just transformed into into a future dancehall mix with the help of KickRaux.

Diplo (one of the three minds behind Major Lazer) even spoke of the new record by stating, “Kranium has one of the biggest songs of the past two years and Kickraux is one of the favorite new producers; making some future dancehall.”

Don’t miss Major Lazer in Chicago on Sept. 26th at the Mad Decent Block Party. This event will also feature other guests like Klingande, Martin Solveig, Towkio, and UZ. (PURCHASE TICKETS HERE!!)

Check out the dope mix down below.

Video: Major Lazer Feat. Ellie Goulding & Tarrus Riley – “Powerful “

posted by Ellena Rodriguez July 24, 2015

Major Lazer has had no chill this week! Just days after dropping their Frank Ocean cover of “Lost”, featuring MØ, they hit us with a music video. The new video titled after their single, “Powerful”, can be heard from their latest summer album, Peace Is The Mission.

The James Slater-directed video features Ellie Goulding and Tarrus Riley (vocals of the song) in a diner. They suddenly realize they have some sort of super powers in which they have the ability of telekinesis. The two take advantage of their power and start causing chaos in the diner. Its kinda trippy.

You can catch Major Lazer in Chicago on September 26th. He will be performing at the Mad Decent Block Party with other guests Klingande, Martin Solveig, Towkio, and UZ. (PURCHASE TICKETS HERE!)

Check out the music video above.

United States 2014 Away Kit, by Nike

posted by Oscar April 1, 2014

US Away Kit 2014

Today saw the unveiling of the new Away kit that the US Men’s & Women’s National Teams will be using in 2014. Designed by Nike, the new kit is a bold change from what we were used to seeing in recent memory for the U.S.A. The shirt sports a modern crew-neck collar with three bands the color of the American flag.

The base color of the jersey and the cuff of the sleeves feature a prominent red. The upper torso and top sleeves include a bold blue tone, and a white chest band extends over the middle of both sleeves.

To help with the announcement of the new shirt, the U.S. Soccer Federation got help from members of the team like Clint Dempsey and Sydney Leroux, former US international Alexi Lalas, and non-soccer stars like football players Andrew Luck and Ndamukong Suh; skateboarders Eric Koston and Sean Malto; track and field gold medalist Allyson Felix; music producer Diplo; musicians HAIM; and filmmaker Spike Lee.

The new U.S. National Team Away Kit is available at Nike stores and on nike.com beginning April 1. See more pics below. Continue Reading
