Conan‘s “George Harrison Week” tribute to the late Beatle reached a real highpoint last night with Dhani Harrison hitting the late night stage to pay homage to his father. Harrison took on All Things Must Pass like “Let It Down” (on the live show) and “Ballad Of Sir Frankie Crisp (Let It Roll)” with a little help from Big Black Delta, which you can see here.

George Harrison Fest 2014

To celebrate the life and legacy of  “the quiet Beatle,” George Harrison, LA’s El Rey Theatre will host a collection of artists who will play a one-night tribute concert for George Fest: An Evening To Celebrate The Music Of George Harrison.

The Cabin Down Below Band will play hosts for the night with Brian Wilson, Norah Jones, Brandon Flowers & Mark Stoermer of The Killers, Ann Wilson of Heart, Wayne Coyne and Steven Drozd of the Flaming Lips, and Britt Daniel of Spoon. Also appearing are “Weird Al” Yankovic, Nick Valensi of The Strokes, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Dhani Harrison, Butch Walker, Ian Astbury, Cold War Kids, Karen Elson, Brian Bell of Weezer, Big Black Delta, Chase Cohl, Jamestown Revival, Matt Sorum, Ryan Miller of Guster, The Black Ryder Gingger Shankar plus many more Surprise Guests.

100% of profits for “George Fest” will benefit Sweet Relief, a charity that offers financial assistance to struggling musicians.

The Beatles

The people behind the Grammys put together a very fitting tribute to the greatest band ever, 50 years to the date of the night The Beatles first performed for America. With some background info on each member’s early days before becoming world stars and some insights from the 2 remaining members talking to David Letterman about that famous performance, the tribute special was a complete spectacle thanks to the main attraction being the music itself. Guest stars performing Beatles classics included Ed Sheeran, John Mayer, Imagine Dragons, Dave Grohl, Gary Clark, Jr., Alicia Keys and John Legend, among many others and we even got performances from surviving members Ringo Starr and Sir Paul McCartney.
