Depeche Mode Release Official Cover of David Bowie’s “Heroes”

After performing the song live on their 2017 tour, Depeche Mode have now formally shared their cover of David Bowie’s iconic “Heroes.” Coinciding with the classic song’s 40th anniversary (September 23rd), the band have released their cover that they performed for their Highline Sessions.

Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame 2017 Nominations Announced: Pearl Jam, Tupac, Jane’s Addiction

The nominees for the 2017 class of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame have been unveiled, featuring new notable new additions Pearl Jam and Tupac Shakur on their first year of eligibility (both of their first records were released in 1991). Also nominated for the first time are Jane’s Addiction, Depeche Mode, Electric Light Orchestra, Bad Brains, and Joan Baez.

Kraftwerk, Janet Jackson, The Cars, MC5, and Journey return with another nomination. Nine Inch Nails and the Smiths are notably excluded from this year’s nomination list despite featuring on the list in the previous two years.

The 2017 inductees will be announced in December; fans can cast their vote on the Rock Hall website. See the full list of nominees below. Continue Reading

This seems almost too perfect. Kanye West’s “Black Skinhead” got mashed up with Depeche Mode’s “Personal Jesus” to give us “Personal Yeezus.” Yeezy’s lyrics and Marilyn Manson-sampling drums fit perfectly with the riff off of “Personal Jesus,” coming off as electric and powerful as the originals. The lineup for Austin’s other major festival, Austin City Limits (ACL), has unveiled its 2013 lineup. Some of the bands/artists that are heading down to ATX for the 2 weekend festival (October 4-6 + 11-13) include Thom Yorke’s Atoms For Peace, Muse, Kings Of Leon, Phoenix, Passion Pit, D’Angelo, Vampire Weekend, Wilco, Arctic Monkeys, Kendrick Lamar and 80’s staples like Depeche Mode, The Cure and Lionel Richie.
