Arcade Fire Share New Track and Video: “Signs Of Life”

posted by Oscar June 30, 2017

Arcade Fire have dropped their latest song off forthcoming album Everything Now, and it’s titled “Signs of Life.” The track, which was. Everything Now is due out July 28 on CD, cassette, digital download and heavyweight black vinyl LP, as the press release via Everything Now Co. notes, through an exclusive 360-degree partnership with global media and e-commerce platform Everything Now in synergy with the Sony corporation. The band has unveiled the track listing to the new album, which can be found after the jump.

Win Butler and company are really showing off their depth here with another danceable track, this one hot enough for a 70s era club that would boast a disco ball and fro’d up ‘dos. The music video is pretty campy, as if Miami Vice was reinterpreted as an art film. The video was directed by Miami-based film/art collective Borscht, who shot the paranormal investigation storyline on 16mm film earlier this month in Miami.

the-weeknd-starboy

The Weeknd’s forthcoming Starboy album is shaping up to be another classic for him. Yesterday, the Toronto native dropped two new joints with “I Feel It Coming” featuring Daft Punk being my favorite of the two. “Party Monster” is awesome as well, but Abel channels his inner Michael Jackson on the Daft Punk collaboration and it’s just something you have to listen to over and over. Get lost in The Weeknd’s two new joints below. Starboy will be released worldwide next week (11/25). Continue Reading

Video: Watch Daft Punk’s Tribute Video To Nile Rodgers

posted by Oscar April 27, 2015

One of the main factors that made Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories so awesome was the guitar work of Disco master Nile Rodgers, who contributed on “Get Lucky” and “Lose Yourself To Dance.”

Chic’s impending return with a new album has led Rodgers becoming subject of a new French documentary called Nile Rodgers: From Disco to Daft Punk. Daft Punk pay tribute the iconic guitarist and in the video above you see the French electronic artists pay homage to him. Check it.

posted by Oscar January 25, 2015

Eden tells the story of the rise of the French electronic music scene in the 1990’s and with the film’s premiere at Sundance this week, the producers have released a new trailer that you see above.

The film was written by DJ Sven Love (co-founder of Cheers) and it follows the scene as it grows from house parties and clubs to become a full-on subculture. Eden portrays real-life DJs including the iconic pair behind Daft Punk Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter. Check it out above.

Daft Punk – ‘Human After All’ (Remixes)

posted by Oscar August 12, 2014

Daft Punk

Back in 2005 Electronic music mainstays, Daft Punk released Human After All to mixed reviews only to later issue a collection of remixes including the likes of Soulwax, Peaches, and Digitalism. The issue, though, was that this collection of special remixes were only available in Japan for the past eight years. In June, the remix compilation was revisited and the French duo re-released added four additional remixes including work from the Juan Maclean and Basement Jaxx, among others, but it was still an overseas exclusive.

This weekend saw an update for us on this side of the world with the album, with an additional remix by Homem-Christo, finally made available in the States.

The compilation is now available to purchase on iTunes or to stream it below through Spotify

Video: HAIM – “If I Could Change Your Mind”

posted by Oscar February 24, 2014

Sister band HAIM have released their latest set of visuals to go along with their Days Are Gone track, “If I Could Change Your Mind.” The music video was directed by Warren Fu and choreographed by Fatima Robinson and showcases the band dancing along to the track, with the same choreography played out in different settings/lighting. If you think it looks awfully similar to Daft Punk’s “Instant Crush,” it’s because these two videos were both directed by Fu. Still, seeing this trio doing choreography, and well at that, turned out to be pretty cool.

See the clip above.
