Nike Celebrates Cristiano Ronaldo’s 2016 Ballon d’Or Win with Limited-Edition Mercurial Superfly CR7 Vitórias

Cristiano Ronaldo has won the 2016 Ballon d’Or to rack up his fourth title so far. The Portuguese Real Madrid star had a stellar year for club and country that saw him also win UEFA Champions League title and the UEFA Euro 2016 championship.

Nike is commemorating Cristiano Ronaldo’s achievements with the limited-edition Mercurial Superfly CR7 “Vitórias.” As Nike points out in their announcement:

The “Vitórias” boot upper and its signature speed ribs feature a stylish Pure Platinum upper with a subtle blue metallic shine and an elegant fade from heel to toe. The Metallic Gold plate is a nod to the gold trophies Ronaldo won this year and the heel graphic reads “Vitórias,” Portuguese for victories. The CR7 logo and Swoosh are further highlighted by an iridescent shimmer.

Earlier today Cristiano Ronaldo was awarded the Ballon d’Or for a second year straight (and third total) thanks to 2014 campaign that saw him playing at a level that was above and beyond that of anyone else in the planet. To help celebrate the occasion and congratulate their star, Nike has unveiled the Mercurial CR7 Rare Gold Boot.

Cristiano Ronaldo Wins The 2014 FIFA Ballon d’Or

Thanks to a brilliant year that saw him lead Real Madrid to finally win “la decima” Champions League title, Cristiano Ronaldo moments ago won the 2014 FIFA Ballon d’Or. This victory over Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer and Barcelona’s Lionel Messi meant Ronaldo, with 37.66% of the votes, won the award for “player of the year” for a second year straight.

The marvelous 2014 campaign saw CR7 set a goal-scoring record in Champions League play with 17 goals, scoring 61 goals in 2014 for club and country, and winning the Golden Boot Award on the individual front and winning the Spanish Super Cup, the Copa Del Rey, and the Champions League cup with Real Madrid.

Cristiano Ronaldo Wins Ballon D’Or (Player of the Year)

Real Madrid and Portugal’s “#7,” Cristiano Ronaldo, is the new winner of the FIFA Ballon d’Or award for 2013, breaking Lionel Messi’s four-year streak as the world’s best player. The voting for the award went as follows: Ronaldo 1,365 points, Messi 1,205 and Ribery 1,127.

Ronaldo scored 69 goals playing for club and country last year; 38 league goals (9 more than any other player in Europe’s “Top 5” leagues), 15 Champions League goals, 10 goals in 9 games for Portugal.
