posted by Ellena Rodriguez August 28, 2015

1438266338_0c4873813a064e2fee5e5195b5a59084Just a day after Fetty Wap unveiled his official cover art for his debut album (which is to release September 25th), he now gives us a fresh new freestyle. The Jersey rapper spits bars over Lil Durk and Chief Keef’s track “Decline”. Though the song is most likely not going to land a spot on his upcoming album, it definitely is worth listening to.

Check out the song along with his official cover art down below.

Video: Chief Keef’s Hologram Performance Gets Shut Down By Police

posted by Ellena Rodriguez July 26, 2015

Chief Keef’s anticipated appearance at Craze Fest in Hammond, Indiana was cut short due to police stating the performance “posed a significant safety risk.” The performance was via-hologram from Beverly Hills, California, but apparently that still puts the public at danger.

Chicago Mayor, Rahm Emanuel, has even previously stated that Keef “is not a good role model,” and that he “promotes violence.”  The Chicago native rapper HAS had made music about his affiliation with gangs and violence and has served time, but he claims he has changed.

The short lived hologram appearance was also a benefit concert. The “Stop the Killing” gig was to raise money for a fellow Chicago rapper, Marvin Carr. Carr was shot and killed this past month. Money was also being raised for the family of 13 month old, Dillan Harris, who was struck by a vehicle involved in Carr’s death.

The performance was only able to catch Keef’s hit song, “Don’t Like”, before the police decided to pull the plug. Check out a clip of what happened above and see the short performance below. Continue Reading

Chief Keef feat. Kanye West – “Nobody”

posted by Oscar December 15, 2014

Chief Keef Kanye West - Nobody

The latest Chief Keef-Kanye West collaboration has finally dropped. The new track is Keef’s “Nobody,” the title track off his new project.

It seems nothing will compare to the original “collaboration” we heard in the “I Don’t Like (Remix)” that originally brought these two Chicago rappers together; the song title overstates the word feature as it is typically understood in music vernacular. Yeezy’s appearance on the track is on backing vocals, rather than with a outright verse.

Hear “Nobody” below. Continue Reading

Review: Kanye West – ‘Yeezus’

posted by Oscar June 17, 2013

Kanye West Yeezus Official Artwork

It’s hard to argue with Kanye West when he calls his new album Yeezus and it features a track called “I Am A God,” that this album wasn’t going to be something massive and controversial. Luckily he delivers. The latest project shows Yeezy at his darkest and, at times, his most vulnerable. It’s not pretty, it’s not Pop but it sure is something the Hip Hop world can use.

The 2013 XXL Freshman List Has Been Released

posted by Alberto March 27, 2013

20130327-074340.jpgThe 2013 XXL Freshman list has just been released and Chicago was not shut out! Chief Keef is the lone Chicago rep and the “11th Freshman.” Not too mad at this list since I believe Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, Logic, Action Bronson, Joey Bada$$ and Keef truly deserve to be on the cover. Would have loved to see more Chicago recognition on the cover though. Not sure how I feel about the rest of the list, but you can take a look at it below.

Update: The cover has been released. Chicago is basically shut out since Keef isn’t really on the cover as I thought he would be. Treated.
