The NBA and adidas Unveil the 2015 NBA Christmas Day Games Uniforms

Christmas Day Jersey 2015 Laydown Horizontal

They finally got it right! The NBA and adidas have unveiled the special edition uniforms that the select teams playing on Christmas Day 2015 will be sporting. Last year’s designs weren’t too bad but they were just a tad bit too off for some of us, but these are on point.

According to adidas:

Designed as part of the adidas NBA Season’s Greetings Collection, the uniforms continue the tradition of introducing new and unique elements each season. This year’s uniforms incorporate primary team colors and cream tones, while player names and numbers are showcased in holiday-style script and detailed with woven rows of stitching. A scarlet NBA seal is also displayed on the back of the jersey as a nod to holiday greeting cards.

Other items on the “Season’s Greetings Collection” includes a special-edition Swingman jersey, women’s Replica jersey, on-court shooting shirt, T-shirt, snapback and knit beanie with prices ranging from $28-$110. and will be available this weekend on NBAStore.com and NBAStore.eu. Jerseys will also be available at select team and other retailers.

Shut up and take my money! Check out more pictures of the uniforms below. Continue Reading

NBA Reveals 2014 Christmas Day Jerseys

2014 NBA Christmas Day Jerseys

What’s looking like it’s going to be an annual thing, the NBA has announced this year’s Christmas Day jerseys. The result is, once again, sort of strange.

The re-design features centered enlarged team logos over the chest with an equally enlarged number right underneath, but what makes this lose any chance of looking cool was that they went from having a player’s name written at the top of the back of the jersey, to mid-back with a white background. Not only that, but they switched from the traditional practice of featuring the player’s last name, to their first. Why though?

Hit the jump to see a gallery of this year’s Christmas Day jerseys. Hey, at least these aren’t as terrible-looking as last year’s:

Fall Out Boy feat. Lupe Fiasco – “Only The Bulls”

Fall Out Boy Lupe Fiasco - Only The Bulls

Check out the new anthem for our city’s favorite basketball team, the Chicago Bulls. The song is called “Only The Bulls,” and it’s a contemporary re-imagining of the original anthem conjured up decades ago. The song has two new original verses produced by Lupe Fiasco while Fall Out Boy remixed the chorus, keeping the original melody and lyrics intact.

For those who may not have made the connection, Lupe and Fall Out Boy were specifically chosen to do this remake because of their Chi-town roots and because, of course, they are each longtime fans of da Bulls.

Hear it below.

Benny The Bull

Why would, arguably, the most beloved mascot in all of sports go on top of the tallest building in the city to wave a flag of the team it represents? Because f*ck yeah!!

Benny The Bull, mascot of the Chicago Bulls, went to the top of the Willis Tower (better known around Chicago as the Sears Tower) to wave a huge Bulls flag for a promo video that will play for the Bulls as they compete in the playoffs.

Derrick Rose Sports Illustrated

The 2013/14 NBA season is upon us and f0r the “preview issue” from Sports Illustrated, they’ve put Chicago’s Derrick Rose on the cover. For any of us fans of the Bulls, and maybe even some haters of LBJ, the anticipation for “the return” has played a key role in this summer’s off-season so it’s great to see that it’s not just this city that’s anxiously waiting to see how D. Rose will be this season.

Apparently, they’ve also written a story on the legendary ’85 Bears (Super Bowl champs) so this issue is looking like a must-buy for sports fans. Grab your copy at newsstands.

The first round of the playoffs have delivered some excellent highlights, but last night Taj Gibson of the Chicago Bulls did one of the best dunks of the playoffs so far. Gibson did Kris Humphries (yup, that one) dirty and slammed in an awesome dunk to help give his team two points and effectively break his opponent’s spirit by posterizing him. See the dunk above.
