Check Out Our Experience at Chance The Rapper’s “Magnificent Coloring World”

posted by Ellena Rodriguez May 21, 2016

Talk about an experience.. Just this past Wednesday, Chicago’s finest, Chance The Rapper, announced via Twitter that he had a surprise for his hometown fans. With no information being announced with it, tickets immediately sold out for his day-long event.

When it came to the day of the “Magnificent Coloring World” event, I was stoked yet curious to see what Chance had in store for us. I arrived at the meeting destination where there were already several fans lined up with their Sox and Chance 3 gear ready to go. After getting our wristbands, we bought some merch and hopped on one of the many school buses that would take us to some mysterious warehouses; yet another reason to be baffled before finding out what this was all about… We were all escorted into a dark warehouse where all we saw was a curtain, which soon started playing footage of Chance throughout his life mixed with clips of movies including Tim Burton’s Batman.

The curtain then dropped and everyone was introduced to Chance’s world! It was full of color, fun, and so much to do. From coloring books to bounce houses and inflatable slides, it felt like candy land mixed with a carnival for grownups. All his guests had a variety of things to participate in. Throughout the festivities, everyone was taking photos, dancing, singing, and playing games as his latest mixtape Coloring Book played throughout the entire brewery warehouse. It was a celebration of everything Chicago, everything Chance The Rapper, and everything Coloring Book. As the last track “Blessings” played, we were surprised with a children’s choir that came out to perform the outro for the crowd, and the lines “Are you ready for your blessings?/Are you ready for your miracle?” were the perfect thing to hear as Chance The Rapper himself finally made his triumphant appearance. It was an amazing performance to end such an unforgettable experience.

So, thank you Chano for welcoming us into your Magnificent Coloring World.

Thanks to Oscar, we both were able to capture some dope footage.

Limited Edition White Sox Hats redesigned by Chance the Rapper

posted by Tali April 6, 2016

So we all know Lil Chano from 79th and his love for the White Sox, especially since he’s always sporting one at every show or event he attends. So it’s only right that the Chicago rapper and famous Sox fan releases his own design for them, right? Right. I guess that’s why he teamed up with New Era and designed a limited edition team logo that also resembles the style of his group logo, The Social Experiment.
