Album Stream: Chance The Rapper & Jeremih Share ‘Merry Christmas Lil Mama: Rewrapped’

posted by Oscar December 19, 2017

Hannibal Buress says it best on the intro to “Lil Bit (Interlude)”: “It’s another Christmas album from Chance The Rapper and Jeremih. I guess these muhfuckas must really love Christmas.

The Chicago artists came together once more to deliver 2017’s follow-up  to last year’s Christmas album. Merry Christmas Lil’ Mama: Rewrapped packs 10 tracks that also fit the holiday theme. My favorites upon first listening to MCLM2 include “Lil Bit,” “Held It Down,” “Big Kid Again,” and “Ms. Parker.” The whole festive project is worth playing as we count down to the 25th.

Jeremih and Chance gave their city the first shot to hear the project by premiering it live on Chicago’s Power 92 with Hot Rod last night.

Video: Chance The Rapper Performs “Somewhere In Paradise”, New Version of “Sunday Candy” on SNL

posted by Oscar December 13, 2015

Wow. Chance The Rapper absolutely killed it tonight as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live, delivered to the world one of his best performances to date! Chano brought Chicago to SNL and the world, in the process finally premiering “Somewhere In Paradise” and performing his gorgeous contribution to Surf, “Sunday Candy.”

For “Somewhere In Paradise,” Chance brought out one of its featured artists, Jeremih, and did a little footwork, slaying in the process. His second performance of the night demonstrated Chance had something truly special planned for this appearance, doing a new version of “Sunday Candy.” Mr. The Rapper (on sleigh bells!) and the rest of the Social Experiment were joined by some backup singers and Jamila Woods for what can only be described as a magical performance of the Gospel-tinged song. It was simply stunning.

Chance, if you’re reading this, thank you.

Chance The Rapper feat. R. Kelly & Jeremih – “Somewhere In Paradise”

posted by Oscar December 12, 2015

chance the rapper - somewhere-in-paradise

The time has finally arrived! Chance The Rapper became the first independent artist to feature as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live and for his first performance, the long-time POD favorite gave a proper premiere to “Somewhere In Paradise.” Not only did he perform that track on SNL, but in true Hip Hop hero fashion, Chano has released the track as a free download. This was a song we first heard two years ago when he performed it during his Social Experiment Tour on Thanksgiving back in 2013 (and we were there to share the experience with you all), so it’s dope to finally hear a studio version.

The updated features Jeremih and R. Kelly, making it a full Chi-town affair. Hear the song now below and stream it over at Apple Music.
