Chance The Rapper & Social Experiment – “I Am Very Very Lonely”

posted by Oscar April 30, 2014

Chance The Rapper - SoX

“It’s just me and la cucaracha…” It’s only right that on the first anniversary of the breakout hit, Acid Rap, Chance The Rapper shares a new song. The song is called “I Am Very Very Lonely” and it boasts his band, Social Experiment, playing in the background for what proves to be a move in the right direction for LA Chano.

The vibe of the track is given away by the title and it’s a soulful slow burner that will work perfectly if heard in the dark of the night that livens up with the chorus, “Hit My Line, I am so lonely. I just wanna shmoke. You can hit the roach.”

Video: Chance The Rapper – “Everybody’s Something”

The latest Austin Vesely-directed video is Chance The Rapper’s “Everybody’s Something” and it’s straight up Dope. The visuals for the song blend the lyrics with relevant clips (particularly digging the “middle finger Uncle Samuel” and the “we invented Rock before the Stone” scenes), so you see Chano simply performing the track while Vesely employs a layered projection effect that brings to mind the look of the sort of trippy videos shot in the late 60’s and early 70’s (like Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid”).
