Foo Fighters Announce New Album, ‘Concrete and Gold’ & Announce Fall Tour + Cal Jam Fest

Today’s a hell of a day for (us) fans of the Foo Fighters! One of the best Rock bands in the world, the Foos shared some big news today with the official announcement of their forthcoming album along the announcement of a new music festival.

The ninth album from Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins & the rest of the group, is titled Concrete and Gold and it will be released on September 15 worldwide Roswell Records / RCA Records and available for preorder now. Speaking on the on the mission statement for this project, leader Dave Grohl said:

“I wanted it to be the biggest sounding Foo Fighters record ever. To make a gigantic rock record but with Greg Kurstin’s sense of melody and arrangement… Motorhead’s version of Sgt. Pepper… or something like that.”

In support of Concrete and Gold, Foo Fighters gave some major announcements on how/when to see them live! Not only are they going on a Fall tour that will hit some smaller cities across the U.S. including Knoxville, TN; Madison, WI; Champaign, IL; and Spokane, WA… But they’re also putting on a music festival that precedes the tour, called Cal Jam! The 12-hour fest is taking place October 7 at Glen Helen Regional Park in San Bernardino, CA and will feature the best bands the genre has to offer, including Queens Of The Stone Age, Cage The Elephant, Liam Gallagher, The Kills, Royal Blood, Babes In Toyland, Japandroids, Bob Mould, plus more.

Life Is Beautiful 2017 Lineup Announced, feat. Chance The Rapper, Gorillaz, Blink-182, Muse

The annual Las Vegas music festival Life Is Beautiful has revealed its lineup for the 2017 today and it’s proving to be one of their best ever. This year’s collection is stacked on pretty much every genre, with some of the bigger names including Chance The Rapper, Muse, Gorillaz, Lorde, and Blink-182.

Some of the other dope names on the lineup include MGMT, Cage The Elephant, ScHoolboy Q, 2 Chainz, HAIM, Pusha T, Vince Staples, Sean Paul, Two Door Cinema Club, De La Soul, and THEY.

The festival will take place downtown Las Vegas on September 22-24, and it will also include Cirque Du Soleil, Bill Nye, and a comedy showcase.

Lollapalooza 2017 Lineup Features Chance The Rapper, Arcade Fire, Blink-182, Big Sean & more

It’s heeeeeere!! The Lollapalooza lineup has arrived in the early, early hours of the morning (6am tho?!) and less than one day after 4-day passes sold out, we find out who’s playing Grant Park between August 3-6.

Chance all but confirmed his inclusion yesterday, but now we come to learn that young Chance The Rapper is actually the first name on this year’s lineup! Joining him to headline the storied festival are Arcade Fire, Muse, Blink-182, Cage The Elephant, Lorde, Run The Jewels, Alt-J, Big Sean, and The Shins.

But as with every year, it’s not just about the headliners!! Some of the other dope names that this year’s roster has to offer are other POD favorites like Migos, Spoon, Kaytranada, Ryan Adams, Phantogram, Mac DeMarco, Royal Blood, Highly Suspect, Aminé, Joey Bada$$, Charli XCX, Sampha, and Maggie Rogers.

Along with Chano, the Chicago presence on this lineup is also quite dope. This year we can catch acts that we fully endorse like Whitney, Noname, The O’My’s, Kweku Collins, and The Walters as the hometown highlights.

Video: Cage The Elephant – “Cold Cold Cold”

Cage The Elephant released the official video for their single “Cold Cold Cold” just days after performing it on television for the first time on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Bonnaroo 2017 Lineup Announced feat. U2, Chance The Rapper, The Weeknd, RHCP

The lineup for Bonnaroo 2017 has been revealed and it features U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Weeknd, and Chance The Rapper all getting top billing.

Taking place June 8-11 in Manchester, TN will also see performances from Lorde, Travis Scott, Cage The Elephant, Future Islands, Milky Chance, Royal Blood, Gallant, D.R.A.M., Flatbush Zombies, Margo Price, Francis and the Lights, Noname, The Orwells, Kevin Abstract, and White Reaper. Governors Ball 2017 Lineup Announced feat. Chance the Rapper, Tool, Phoenix, Childish Gambino

The Governors Ball Music Festival today announced their 2017 lineup and it features Tool, Chance The Rapper, Phoenix, and Childish Gambino on the top of the bill.

2017 may just be the year POD finally checks out a Lollapalooza down in South America, considering the upcoming year’s lineup! The Official 2017 Lineups for Argentina, Chile and Brazil have been revealed and feature some incredible artists headlining including Metallica, The Strokes, The Weeknd and The xx.

Video: Cage the Elephant – “Trouble”

Cage The Elephant have shared their new video for Tell Me I’m Pretty‘s “Trouble.” Dope thing about these visuals: Cage lead singer Matt Shultz is making his directorial debut in this one.

In the video we see the band playing in a desert as 2 characters see out a duel like something out of “Ole West” lore.. Shultz said in a statement about his approach to directing the video:

I really wanted to make a video that was like John Wayne or a young Clint Eastwood acting in a Cocteau Play or Ingmar Bergman’s Wild Strawberry’s [sic]… A metaphorical journey that hopefully people could read between the lines.

Cage The Elephant 2016 Tour

Cage The Elephant today have announced their 2016 tour, which will hit cities across the U.S. and Canada. The Kentucky band will be hitting the road again after wrapping up their Spring Fling Rock AF 2016 tour with Silversun Pickups and Foals, kicking off on May 1st. CTE will be performing accompanied by Portugal. The Man, who will support them for the entirety of the tour. The opening act duties will be held by either Broncho or our homies in Twin Peaks.
