Coachella Announces 2018 Lineup feat. The Weeknd, Beyoncé, Eminem, SZA, St. Vincent, Migos

posted by Oscar January 2, 2018

It’s still early enough in 2018 where you can see someone and wish them a “Happy New Year” without sounding like a weirdo, and Coachella has already delivered the FULL lineup for their 2018 festival.

The headliners for both weekends are The Weeknd, Eminem, and Beyoncé, the latter making up for cancelling her appearance last year due to being hella pregnant with twins.

The rest of the lineup is good enough to draw plenty of attention of their own with artists like SZA, St. Vincent, Migos, Tyler the Creator, Miguel, Cardi B, War on Drugs, Chic with Nile Rodgers, Vince Staples, A Perfect Circle, Kamasi Washington, French Montana, 6LACK, Angel Olsen, Jamiroquai, Daniel Cesar, Kali Uchis, Bleachers, Post Malone, BROCKHAMPTON, Aminé, and Highly Suspect… Yeah, we like this lineup.

Shout out to Chicago’s own Knox Fortune and Noname.

Coachella 2018 will take place the Empire Polo Club in Indio, Calif. for two weekends this Spring (April 13-15 and April 20-22). Peep the lineup in full on the poster above.

Two of the biggest names in music, Eminem and Beyoncé, have joined forces for the rapper’s new song “Walk On Water.” The track was produced by the equally iconic Rick Rubin, and it shows both artists dispelling the notions that they’re like Gods, with lyrics from Queen Bey like “I walk on water, but I ain’t no Jesus.”

J. Balvin and Willy William Add Beyoncé to “Mi Gente” Remix

posted by Oscar September 29, 2017

J. Balvin’s hit track “Mi Gente” has gotten a major update, with a remix that elevates the track to a whole other level thanks to the addition of the incomparable Beyoncé.

In this new version, not only does Queen Bey drop new verses, but one of them is actually en Español! The remix actually comes with a little extra beyond being something else that makes you press play, but rather harnessing the power of music. Beyoncé made an update to her website  in which she states “I am donating my proceeds from this song to hurricane and earthquake relief charities for Puerto Rico, Mexico and other affected Caribbean islands.”

Could she be any more iconic? Hear the remix through the video above, which combines clips of fans and celebrities (including Cristiano Ronaldo, Diplo, & others) jamming to the song. Check it out above and support the dope cause. Continue Reading

Beyoncé Releases ‘Lemonade,’ feat. Kendrick Lamar, Jack White, the Weeknd

posted by Oscar April 24, 2016

beyonce lemonade

Beyoncé’s new album Lemonade has finally arrived, premiering via an HBO special of the same name. The album is now available via Columbia/Parkwood and it is streaming exclusively on Tidal. The features include Jack White, The Weekend, James Blake, and Kendrick Lamar. Towards the end of the special, Lemonade is called a “visual album” before the end credits rolled out.

The HBO special is more of a movie experience with amazing, cinematic visuals and spoken word refrains in between each song/video. A lot of the imagery centers around themes like Afro-centrism, sorrow, revenge, and family. If you ever needed an excuse to get HBO, this is it.

Apart from those features, there’s also a healthy amount of samples too. Among those are Led Zeppelin’s “When The Levee Breaks” (“Don’t Hurt Yourself”), Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ “Maps” (“Hold Up”), Father John Misty (“Hold Up”) and Animal Collective’s “My Girls” (“6 Inch”). Co-producers include Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig, Diplo, Mike Will Made It, and Just Blaze.

Hear it exclusively on Tidal (previews below). Continue Reading

Video: See SNL’s “The Day Beyoncé Turned Black” Skit

posted by Oscar February 14, 2016

This very well could be the greatest SNL skit in a very, very long time! In case you hadn’t heard, Fox News hated Beyoncé’s Super Bowl performance and similar thoughts were felt by many people in this country, a backlash against Queen Bey’s black pride.

So, naturally, Saturday Night Live “re-enacted” a lot of people’s response to Beyoncé’s “Formation,” showing the world just how terrifying it must’ve been for a certain demographic to realize that she was a black artist. See the awesome skit above.
