Video: Beck and the Surviving Members of Nirvana Perform David Bowie’s “The Man Who Sold The World”

posted by Oscar February 15, 2016

Playing at a Pre-Grammy Party last night, Beck joined forces with the remaining Nirvana members (Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, Pat Smear) and covered David Bowie’s “The Man Who Sold The World.”

The performance was a fitting tribute to Bowie shortly after his passing, but it was also a touching nod to Nirvana’s past and their own iconic cover of the song during their MTV Unplugged performance a couple of decades ago. Check that one out below.

Not exactly something you’d think would happen huh? Taylor Swift’s current tour has been plagued with surprise appearances of all sorts of artists that may not exactly always be on her fan’s radar, but that a T.Swift stamp of approval could surely generate some sort of interest from there on out. The latest to make an appearance with Pop’s biggest star were none other than Beck and St. Vincent, and the unlikely pair (considering this revolving around a Swift concert) hit the stage to perform the former’s awesome hit “Dreams.”

Check out a clip of how things went down at that L.A. show above and a bit of the St. Vincent guitar solo below. Continue Reading

Beck - Dreams

It’s about time we got to boogie to a Beck song and we finally get to with his latest track “Dreams.” The recent Grammy winner is back with a song that grooves and will take you back to the sound of his earlier days.

Morning Phase was cool and I can definitely see why it won “Album Of The Year” at the Grammys, but this is the stuff that I can get down to and that I’ve always loved from this artist.

Nate Ruess feat. Beck – “What This World Is Coming To”

posted by Oscar May 31, 2015

Nate Ruess

Nate Ruess of fun. is set to release a new solo effort on June 16 and today he’s delivered his latest track off Grand Romantic. The song features Beck and it is titled “What This World Is Coming To.”

The sound, led by a prominent acoustic guitar, is very similar to Beck’s latest effort with a Folk-y vibe that is more than suitable for Ruess’ distinct vocals. It almost feels like it comes out of the 70s, with interstellar effects and flourishes during the chorus that bring to mind Bowie’s music from that era.
