Recap: Coldplay at Soldier Field

This past Thursday I was among the crowd that witnessed Coldplay’s massive show at Soldier Field here in Chicago. I use the term massive in more sense than one, considering that not only were they playing before a stadium crowd, but this concert was also broadcasting live in virtual reality for fans around the world. Fans of all ages were looking for an adventure of a lifetime, and lucky for them, Chris Martin and company sure delivered a set worthy of this stage to prove why Coldplay deserve to be one of the biggest acts around. We’re still feeling the body aches of a 4-day celebration of the 25th anniversary of the staple music festival, Lollapalooza… But it turns out those battle wounds also serve as a reminder of the absolutely dope experiences we had during the extended weekend. During these 4 days we got to see acts in all sorts of different stages in their careers, from established international performers to local superstars in the making. It’s almost too difficult to narrow down a list of our favorite moments in a concise manner, but it’s our job to let the world know what’s dope, and lucky for us, we got plenty to choose from.

Album Stream: Flume – ‘Skin’

The time has finally come! Australia’s very own, Flume, has just released his second album titled Skins. The 16 track project features a diverse group of artists such as AlunaGeorge, Tove Lo, and Chicago native Vic Mensa. With Flume’s debut album, self-titled Flume, being so successful, Skin had a lot to live up to.. and it sure didn’t disappoint. The LP is now available on Spotify.

Glastonbury 2016 Lineup Announced, feat. Adele, LCD Soundsystem, Beck, Disclosure

Another one of the world’s biggest music events of the year has revealed its 2016 lineup. The UK’s Glastonbury Festival will welcome artists like Adele, LCD Soundsystem, Coldplay, Muse, Jeff Lynne’s ELO, and Disclosure to Worthy Farm in Pilton, England this coming June 22-26.

Other notable acts on the bill are acts that we’ve featured on POD like Beck, Santigold, Vince Staples, AlunaGeorge, Hinds, CHVRCHES, Kurt Vile, Wolf Alice, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Jake Bugg, and Mac DeMarco. Check out the full 2016 lineup in the poster above, designed by Radiohead artist Stanley Donwood.

Coachella 2016 Lineup Announced, feat. Guns N’ Roses, LCD Soundsystem, ASAP Rocky

Coachella 2016

The Coachella 2016 lineup has been unveiled and, as early reports indicated, both Guns N’ Roses and LCD Soundsystem will be reuniting to headline the festival.

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival will be held from April 15-17 and April 22-24 in Indio, California. The rest of the lineup includes artists that we support like A$AP Rocky, The Arcs, Ellie Goulding,  Jack Ü, Ice Cube, Disclosure, James Bay, Calvin Harris, Major Lazer, Rancid, Vince Staples, Joey Bada$$, Courtney Barnett, and Run The Jewels. It’s pretty safe to safe this one’s going to be a killer festival.
