Video: AFI – “Snow Cats”

posted by Oscar January 5, 2017

AFI have shared their new visuals for their song “Snow Cats,” off forthcoming album AFI (The Blood Album). The music video picks up where their video for “White Offerings” left off, showing lead singer Davey Havok right in front of the camera lens and having the viewer enter his eye to go into some other dimension. The outer space clip constantly zooms into different shots of Havok and the band performing the track with geometrical shapes surrounding them.

AFI (The Blood Album) is due out January 20, 2017 via Concord and will head out on tour starting that day. See the new Drew Kirsch-directed video above.

Video: AFI – “White Offerings”

posted by Oscar December 8, 2016

Just a few days removed from having shared their latest track “Aurelia” and announcing their 2017 tour, AFI have unleashed their new visuals for “White Offerings.” The music video was directed by Drew Kirsch and it premiered on Rolling Stone today. The clip shows the band all clad in white using white equipment as they perform the ferocious track in a white room, as some interesting black contrasts find their way onto the shots every now and then. AFI – “Aurelia”

posted by Oscar November 30, 2016

Punk vets and POD favorites AFI have shared a new song called “Aurelia.” The band’s latest offering from AFI (The Blood Album) is another big track with anthemic vibes, but as opposed to previous releases “White Offerings” and “Snow Cats,” this one is a bit more in the vein of Goth and Post-Punk.

Either way, I’m digging it. Hear it below. Continue Reading

AFI Announce New Project ‘AFI (The Blood Album),’ Share New Songs “Snow Cats” and “White Offerings”

posted by Oscar October 28, 2016

AFI have announced their new album, AFI (The Blood Album), which will be released on January 20, 2017 via Concord. The follow-up to 2013’s Burial was produced by Jade Puget and co-produced by Matt Hyde.

With the announcement also come two new songs, “Snow Cats” and “White Offerings.” The heavier and more anthemic “White Offerings” is definitely my favorite of the two, featuring those signature Davey Havok vocals that go from aggressive to melodic from one line to the next. Peep both of those tracks below. Continue Reading

posted by Oscar September 11, 2013

Riot Fest

If you ever paid attention to the name of the authors on P.O.D. you may have noticed by now that I’m “the Rock guy” around here and that should have made you expect me to write up a list of the top 10 acts you just can’t miss at Riot Fest (Chicago) ’13.  This is my third Riot Fest in a row, my first covered on this site (in our traditional fan-view way, of course), and I’m already planning for this to be another tradition of mine. We’re just days away from rocking Humboldt Park and without a single note yet to be played, the music festival and carnival is already looking like it may be one of the best they’ve ever organized.

Hit the jump for the Top 10 Artists to see at Riot Fest ’13. Continue Reading
