Japan World Cup 2014 Away Kit, by adidas

The latest World Cup kit to be revealed is Japan’s phosphorescent yellow away kit. The “away” jersey is yellow, for the first time in the country’s history, the reason behind this is, according to the adidas news release:

The decision to adopt the all-over execution in yellow is an expression of the wishes that the people of Brazil join the enthusiastic Japanese supporters to root for the Japan National Football Team.

In addition, this yellow colour, as well as the red colour seen on the single line signifying ‘KESSOKU (bond, unity)'”. On the back of the uniform, adidas has incorporated bright neon colours (fluorescent colours), which contribute to the players’ greater presence on the pitch, with the familiar “Japan Blue” firmly implanted in the Three Stripes and on both sleeves.

The kit, in design, is pretty cool thanks to that splash of red and the iconic “rising sun” starting off from the left side of the chest over the heart. See more pictures in the gallery below. Continue Reading


Spain World Cup 2014 Home Kit, by adidas

With the World Cup just about half a year away, a lot of the teams that have qualified for the tournament are starting to reveal the special kits they will be wearing next summer in Brazil. The latest comes from the current World Champs, Spain, who will be wearing a classic red home jersey with off-red pinstripes. The iconic adidas 3 stripes that run along the sleeves are in gold.
