POD Photos: Riot Fest 2017 – Day 1 feat. Vic Mensa, Action Bronson, Death From Above, Warm Brew

posted by Oscar September 18, 2017

Riot Fest 2017 is officially in the books, delivering 3 days of dope performances to make it one of our favorite editions yet. With a lineup as stacked as this one, Day 1 definitely kicked things off to a great start. We checked out a pretty diverse collection of acts here, including the band X (celebrating its 40th anniversary), Vic Mensa, Action Bronson, Death From Above, Saul Williams, Buzzcocks, and Warm Brew…

Of course I caught Nine Inch Nails’ headlining set (frontrunner for my favorite performance), but we couldn’t access the photo pit and so we resorted to just hitting the crowd and be among the masses. To be completely honestly, that’s the best way to enjoy this band.

Check out our gallery for Day 1 below. Continue Reading

12 Artists to See at Riot Fest 2017

posted by Oscar September 12, 2017

It’s Riot Fest week!! The Chicago festival is best known for putting together some of the nation’s best lineups year after year, bringing back iconic bands for special reunions along the way, and the 2017 edition is right up there among their best ever.

We’ve been attending the Punk-rooted festival since 2011 and this year’s going to be a bit different for us, as it marks the first time we’re attending as part of the press. So instead of sneaking our way to the front rails to see the action up-front or hopping from mosh pit to mosh pit, we’ll be bouncing around all of Douglas Park this weekend to take in all it’s got to offer and taking photography of the artists we are most eager to see from this lineup.

We’ve put together a list of some of our favorite artists on the lineup that we are looking forward to seeing perform live at Riot Fest 2017. Check out the can’t-miss acts below.

Video: Action Bronson – “Let Me Breathe”

posted by Oscar June 30, 2017

Action Bronson has made it official by announcing that his long-awaited Blue Chips 7000 project is underway, and the New York rapper has paired that news with the release of his new video for “Let Me Breathe.” The visual was directed by James Larese and in it we dive into Bronsolino’s world in a stage set that features where the man behind the Blue Chips series throw a man through a wall, Bronson driving a monster truck, and him directing an unlikely group of “dancers” as they perform his choreography as glitter rains down on them. Look out for the Jeff Garlin cameo, too.

The mockumentary-style video is weird as fuck, but that’s exactly why you need to watch it.

Blue Chips 7000 is coming soon. Check out the music video above.

Action Bronson - Descendant Of The Stars

Action Bronson’s got a new track titled “Descendant of the Stars.” This Alchemist-produced joint serves as the theme song to Bronsolino’s Viceland show “Traveling the Stars.”

The piano-led song’s hook has Bronson state “as a descendant of the stars it’s only right that I become one,” very anthemic for all of us who recognize our destiny is up in the skies. Check it out below. Continue Reading

Video: Action Bronson Cooks on ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers’

posted by Oscar April 12, 2016

Action Bronson visited Late Night with Seth Meyers yesterday, making an appearance not as a musical guest but rather the focal point of a cooking segment. Bronson connected with Seth Meyers to promote his Viceland show “Fuck That’s Delicious.”

The segment saw the rapper cook up some octopus, which he hilariously described as “the bagel of the sea.” Peep the video of Action Bronson’s appearance above.

Governors Ball 2016

Festival lineup announcement season is upon us and now that its NYC’s Governors Ball have unveiled their 2016 roster, it’s getting really hard to argue which lineup is better, this one or Coachella’s

The big news is that the festival to be held at Randall’s Island Park June 3-5 will be headlined by Kanye West AND The Strokes. Two of the biggest acts since the turn of the century!! That itself is more than enough to make you want to attend, but the fest organizers have put together some worthy acts to fill out the rest of the schedule that you can get excited about.

Also on the lineup are The Killers, Beck, Death Cab For Cutie, HAIM, Father John Misty, Bloc Party, Miguel, Big Grams, Action Bronson, Mac Miller, Joey Bada$$, Eagles Of Death Metal, De La Soul, Vince Staples, and Vic Mensa.
