posted by Luis Hernandez May 9, 2017

One of the most important aspects of an MLB player is not his batting average or his home run numbers, its his walk-up song to the plate. Choose the wrong song and you’re seen as an automatic out, pick the right one and the pitcher will think that you can hit it out of the park at anytime. In honor of this, here are the top walk-up rap songs from American League Players in 2017 (National League Edition coming soon):

Video: Eddie Vedder Sings Jingle in Chicago Cubs Commercial

posted by Oscar April 2, 2017

Lifelong superfan Eddie Vedder appears in a new commercial for the Chicago Cubs. In the clip, the lead singer of Pearl Jam gets recruited by Cubs players Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo to craft the jingle for their fictional Bryzzo Souvenir Company. The jingle actually rocks, so it’s safe to say that Bryzzo did become a thing, Vedder’s jam would surely help the likes of Addison Russell, Kyle Schwarber, and Javi Baez a boost in their souvenirs sales.

Check out the clip above.

Video: Bill Murray Plus Members of the Chicago Cubs Sing “Go Cubs Go” on ‘SNL’

posted by Oscar November 6, 2016

The celebration of the historic achievement for the Chicago Cubs, who won their first World Series in 108 years during the week, continued over the weekend thanks to ultimate fan and SNL alum Bill Murray led Cubs players Anthony Rizzo, David Ross and Dexter Fowler in an appearance on SNL’s “Weekend Update” segment.

Murray and his Cubbies hit up the show dressed as a barbershop quartet to perform Steve Goodman’s Cubs theme “Go Cubs Go,” finishing off with a fade to the Cubs Win Flag.

Right before the World Series victory, The Hood Internet mashed up Chance The Rapper’s “No Problem” with the Cubs theme. Check that out here.

The Hood Internet Mashes Up “Go Cubs Go” with Chance The Rapper’s “No Problem”

posted by Oscar October 25, 2016

Ahead of Game 1 of the 2016 World Series, The Hood Internet are showing their support for their team the Chicago Cubs by mashing up the club’s anthem “Go Cubs Go,” with fellow Chicagoan, Chance The Rapper’s hit Coloring Book track “No Problem.” Though this may be an odd pairing considering Chano is a die-hard White Sox fan, it kinda works. At the very least, it’s getting the North Side pumped for the Cubbies’ first appearance in the World Series in 71 years!

Note the fact the Coloring Book cover art has also been altered to not only feature an iconic Cubbies “W,” but the Chance 3 hat is now a Cubs cap. Check out the mashup below. Continue Reading

Video: Chance The Rapper Throws Out the First Pitch at the Chicago White Sox Home Opener

posted by Oscar April 8, 2016

Chance The Rapper had the honors today of throwing out the ceremonial first pitch before the Chicago White Sox’s season opener. It was only right that Chano was wearing one of the hats he designed for his beloved Sox as he got the ball to cross the plate, in the snow no less, and things got better when he hit us with a celebratory dance afterwards.

Video: Kendrick Lamar Throws First Pitch at Dodgers Game

posted by Oscar April 27, 2015

The LA Dodgers gave hometown boy Kendrick Lamar the opportunity to throw out the first pitch at today’s game. K Dot’s attempt was pretty damn good actually, and the fact that 50 Cent’s attempt exists, the Compton rapper’s throw might as well have been MLB-quality pitching.

See Jack White’s Topps Baseball Card; Also, Eddie Vedder

posted by Oscar January 21, 2015

Jack White Baseball Card

Last year saw guitar god Jack White hit up a number of ballparks across America and that was so newsworthy that it even became a meme. In his hometown of Detroit White even threw the first pitch before a Tigers game, and today the moment was further immortalized by Topps with the release of a special edition baseball card.

According to The Detroit Free Press, White will appear on a First Pitch Insert card in the 2015 Topps Series 1 set. The new card will be included in card packs starting February 6th.

Update: Jack White isn’t the only rocker getting the ol’ baseball card treatment. Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder will also appear on a Topps card, his showing the lead singer midway through throwing a pitch at Cubbies match. The “First Pitch” series will showcase celebrities throwing out first pitches, including the likes of Jeff Bridges, Tom Morello, and 50 Cent. It’d be dope if our boy Chano made the cut for the next series.

It’s beautiful stuff, to say the least.
