Pivot… PIVOT! It’s been a long time coming, but now we have finally received the debut album from the Pivot Gang. The Chicago collective from out west, consisting of Saba, Joseph Chilliams, MFn Melo, SqueakPIVOT, and Frsh Waters, have released a project packing 13 songs for your soul’s enjoyment.
Among the feature appearances are Smino, Mick Jenkins, Jean Deaux, Femdot, Sylvan LaCue, Kari Faux, and Benjamin Earl Turner, covering a wide spectrum of what our flourishing local scene has to offer along with some acts contributing some attention-grabbing work themselves.
Pivot Gang is soaring on this album, with each crew member pulling their weight and contributing in a way that shows nobody was about to let themselves get outshined by the next verse. If they want to take this on tour and perform it front to back, the Pivot Gang can have my money right now!
