It’s time for Miguel Jontel Pimentel, or better yet his stage moniker, Miguel, to be recognized as a household name. If his continuous appearances on U.S top charts or collaborations with the biggest artists in the industry don’t speak enough on his behalf, then consider witnessing him live in concert. And at the rate he’s touring, it’s not a hard thing to do. Miguel capped off a two month tour in April, fresh off the release of his most successful album, War & Leisure, only to follow it up with The Ascension Tour, where he’s making his way around the U.S. establishing the title he knows he deserves: one of the best live performers in the industry today.

His performance this Monday, September 17, in San Diego was no exception — he lit up the audience at San Diego State University’s amphitheater from start to end, doing an equal share of dancing and singing to the tune of his most successful chart-topping songs. The R&B star, who earned his fame opening up for Alicia Keys back in 2013, is more than worthy of taking on a sold-out headline tour in 2018. Add him to your list of must-see artists before you die.
