“Hip-Hop inspired me to create a “Hip-Hop in Chinatown” event last year which merged cultures together and was the first of its kind in the community. The idea came to me when I realized many of my friends are super creative, but they don’t have a platform to showcase their work…so I made one. Needless to say it went very well with us being able to bring several hundred people and a few sponsors into the fold. My team and I are providing a platform for local artists to do their things. This year my team and I plan to make it bigger, the 2nd annual “Hip-hop In Chinatown” event that bridges Chinese culture and modern music through the  four elements of hip hop: live art, breakdancing, DJing, and MCing. Also, we are having pop-up shops, live art, and much more. This is only the first step, our vision is to bring this event to different Chinatowns around the nation.  This is not your regular community event.”
