PREMIERE: “Lately I’ve Been Sol Searching 2” By Musa Reems

Westside MC Musa Reems is back again with the sequel to his Lately I’ve Been Sol Searching project and it’s an absolute banger from top to bottom. Musa’s creativity is on whole other level on the seven track EP, with the different layers of lyricism and storytelling going into each song. There’s the intro track “44 4’s” which features 44 different usages of the phonetic “4,” then there’s “Lingo” which is a rundown of the meaning of different Chicago words, and another standout is “Life With Me,” an ode to Chicago that personifies the city and different neighborhoods to real people in a way tells a story that sound  completely real.

The production on this project was carried by S.K.I.L. and Curbside Jones, and the beats are smooth, soulful and reminiscent of that old-school vibe that early 2000s Kanye used to bring to the table. Musa’s flow wotht this style of production is a perfect match, and with is level of quality wordplay, he’s dropped a project could fit well in virtually every generation of hip-hop. Stream the project below, and if you like what you hear, try to come through his release party tonight and tell him in person how dope the project is.
