Chicago’s own Whitney have announced their album Light Upon The Lake: Demo Recordings, which will arrive November 10th on Secretly Canadian. Along with that news, the band are sharing the previously unreleased song, “You and Me.” The track was written during the early sessions for their seminal debut album, around 2014-2015.
As noted in a press release, Light Upon The Lake, the debut from Whitney, was born from early-morning songwriting sessions during one of the most brutal winters in Chicago’s history. It’s so revered here at POD, that I even named it my favorite album of 2016, so learning that the band is packaging full demos that give everyone a peek at the early stages of the making of this album is nothing but exciting.
