Video: See ‘Day Zero’, Mass Appeal’s Documentary on Smino + Zero Fatigue

Mass Appeal has dropped its documentary chronicling Smino’s blkswn first headline tour final stop, in his hometown of St. Louis. In the 20 minute-plus  film titled Day Zero, we learn about Smino’s upbringing singing in the church, being in the basement making beats while others were working on their hoops dreams, meeting and connecting with Monte Booker for the first time, and leaving home to find success, reflecting on that moment saying “I left on some desperate shit… The way I left St. Louis, I got a bag and a place to sleep. And the place I had to sleep was a small booth in this place called the Music Factory.”

You’ll also see clips from that tour-closing show mixed in with the interviews, including performances of songs like “Anita” and “Netflix & Dusse.” Monte Booker, Jay2, and Phoelix also get interviewed.
