The War On Drugs Share “Pain”

The War On Drugs are set to release their fourth album, A Deeper Understanding, three weeks from today and to help preview it they have shared the second official single, “Pain.” It’s in this song that we hear the album’s title in its lyrics, and, as a press release notes, is one of two songs Adam Granduciel cut, nearly-live, on his first night working with engineer Shawn Everett and the band — bassist Dave Hartley, keyboardist Robbie Bennett, drummer Charlie Hall and multi-instrumentalists Anthony LaMarca and Jon Natchez– at Sonora Recorders in Los Angeles.

The War On Drugs’ A Deeper Understanding is out August 25th via Atlantic Records. The band will be touring for two-plus months beginning mid-September. Tickets are available for purchase at www.thewarondrugs.net. Catch them play their second late night appearance in support of A Deeper Understanding next Wednesday, August 9th on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
