Last month, Skepta dropped his latest single, “Hypocrisy.” Yesterday the grime legend dropped the visual he co-directed himself. The fact that the song was also produced by the man makes this a fully committed work of art that deserves appreciation.
The video features the London native as the host of his own show at the beginning, but then quickly transitions to him just straight up rapping directly into the camera in front of what could possibly be the corniest fake TV set you will ever see. That doesn’t matter though because Skepta keeps the focus on him by oozing swagger while calling out his haters throughout the video. At one point, the whole fake set is lit aflame, more than likely due to Skepta committing arson with his fire bars.
