Kane Strang Announces New Album, ‘Two Hearts and No Brain,’ Shares “My Smile Is Extinct”

Kane Strang has announced his new album, Two Hearts and No Brain, due out June 30th via Dead Oceans. Paired with the announcement is the new single, “My Smile Is Extinct.” The song will instantly hook you, thanks to a ridiculously delicious guitar lick that will remind you of Garage Rock’s finest hour, while the vocal delivery mirrors the sentiment of the song’s title in such a way that you’ll quickly empathize with that. I can honestly say this is easily one of my top 10 favorite tracks from this month.

The album was recorded in what a press release notes is a “notoriously haunted Chick’s Hotel studio” in his hometown of Dunedin Kane, where teamed up with producer Stephen Marr from trip hop group Doprah. The pair cooked up 11 tracks that focus on subjects like heartbreak, loneliness, family. Hear the lead single below.
