Music To Survive Monday: 5 Songs You Need in Rotation

It’s only been 23 days and 2017 already looks to be one of the weirdest years yet. Thankfully, it seems that we will be getting a dope soundtrack to go along with the craziness of 2017. In honor of this, here are 5 songs you may have slept on but need to be in rotation to get you through this Monday. Check them out below!

Gotchu – Aaron Deux feat. King

I been bumping this song heavy for the past month and its time I share it with the world. Aaron Deux is one of the best kept secrets in rap right now and when he drops his collab project with Chicago rapper Isaiah G everybody will know his name. I enjoy everything about this song, from the hook to Aarons verses to the beat, its a straight hit.

I Swear – Warm Brew feat. Buddy

S/o to my POD fam for showing me this song which is absolute fire. Warm Brew hails from California and when this track comes on you immediately feel like you’re in sunny LA. Warm Brew is on pace to be the next great hip-hop collective from the West Coast and I’m excited for everything they drop in 2017.

Land Of The Free – Joey Bada$$

Joey returns this week with one of his most politically charged songs to date. The Pro Era rapper goes in on this, voicing his concerns about Trump, society, and everything in between. Look out for his new album dropping in 2017.

Bacon – Chris $pencer feat. Druken Monkeee

Chris $pencer (Chris Crack & Vic Spencer) are the best duo in Chicago and are ready for stardom following their critically acclaimed project in 2016 “Who The F*** is Chris Spencer?”. They’re back again this year, dropping one of the hardest tracks of 2017 with Bacon featuring Druken Monkeee. Their follow up project is due to drop sometime this year and it can’t come soon enough. Don’t sleep on these guys anymore. Also, props to them for this music video, its dope.

U Were Always, Pt. 2 – Wiley feat. Skepta & Belly

2017 is the year Grime makes its mark in America and its off to a great start with Wiley dropping his album “Godfather” earlier this month. This cut off the project is my favorite, as Skepta destroys his verse, along with Belly and Wiley who maintain the same energy throughout the track. If you like Grime, this album is a must listen. UK Rap is on the rise.
