Every Chicago Sports Teams 2016 Rap Theme Song

This year was an up and down one for Chicago sports with the highest of highs for the Cubs and extreme lows for teams like the Bears. With that being said, here are each of Chicago Sports teams rap theme songs for their 2016 performances:

Chicago Cubs – Champion by Kanye West

This is an obvious one, since the Cubs won the World Series this year. As a die-hard cubs fan, I still often get moments where I feel like it wasn’t real and that we still could choke away our lead. After they won I played this Kanye song a million times just to relive the moment of the final out. The song also has some lyrics that depict my Cubs fandom such as  “When it feels like living is harder than dying” because when Rajai Davis hit that game-tying home run I literally questioned why I even liked baseball. Also the line “They Used To Feel Invisible, Now They know they invincible” stuck out to me because of how trash the Cubs used to be in the past. Not to mention the heartbreak of 2003, 2007, & 2008 that had me devastated each year. It’s ok though, because we’re world champs and now every Cubs fan deserves to act as cocky Kanye for at least a year.

Chicago White Sox – Move Around by Bump J

For the record, I hate the Sox so much and hope they never win again. However, I’m loving the moves the team has made over the last few months and have to pay my respect. I know getting rid of Chris Sale hurt, but you got a lot of good young talent back. Also let’s be real, you were never gonna win anytime soon so it’s good that you’re rebuilding. This Bump J song (#FreeBumpJ)  is a perfect theme song for 2017 as well, as the team is gonna start getting rid of everybody. I’ve been there though with the Cubs and it should turn out good for you too. Hopefully everything works out and you guys are good soon because we need to make the crosstown rivalry great again!

Chicago Bears – Down & Out – Cam’ron feat. Kanye West

The Bears season has been all sorts of garbage and it’s kind of depressing. Not only was the whole team injured, we usually got blown out so badly that I tried to forget we have a team in Chicago. It’s hard to watch them sometimes and considering they haven’t been good for about 5 years makes it even more depressing. It’s ok though, because even though we may be down we are not out, as we have a lot of good young talent springing up like Running back Jordan Howard or linebacker Leonard Floyd. 2016 was a down year, but we will return stronger than ever soon enough. No matter what, at least we aren’t living in cultureless Green Bay, where the economy is based on how many times Aaron Rodgers cries to the referee.

Chicago Blackhawks – Return of The G by Outkast

The Hawks are back and all NHL teams should all be scared for what that means for their playoff hopes. People hoped our run was over, sike, the return of the greatest organization of the last decade is back and about to make a strong run at the Cup. I’m not gonna act like I know a lot about hockey because I don’t, but I would love another parade to turn up to in mid June. Let’s make that happen Kane & Toews.

Chicago Bulls – 21 Questions by 50 Cent

The 2016 Bulls started out pretty good, trading Rose was the right move and now Butler is a star now. However, the team has come back down to earth, showing that they are probably only gonna be a fringe playoff team. This leads me to 50 Cent’s 21 questions as everybody is asking what is the direction of this organization going forward? Are we rebuilding? Are we Trying to to win now? Are we just using the Dwade signing to drive ticket sales? Seriously, what’s going on? I’m sick of seeing Lebron dance his way to the finals as his die-hard fans claim he’s better than MJ (smh). We need to know what’s the plan for the future, until then I’ll just enjoy this season for what it is as Jimmy Butler is a top 10 player in the league.

Bonus:

Chicago Sky – Ignorance is Bliss by Kendrick Lamar

Ignorance is literally bliss when it comes to the Chicago Sky, who low key are one of the most successful teams in the city. They are always good and led by superstar Elena Delle Donne they should be competitive for many years. I think the reason why a lot of people don’t pay attention is we don’t have a good rival team to hate yet in the WNBA. Once that happens I guarantee the city will get behind this organization to crush a team like the LA Sparks or another since that’s the only other team name I know.

Chicago Fire – Used to This by Future & Drake

Where do the Fire play at? What was their record? Who is on their team? It seems that that is everybody in the city when talking about the Fire. Even when you type in Chicago Fire to google the first thing that pops up is the NBC show, not even our team! After many years, I honestly feel like the team is used to this behavior. However, I did go to a game this year and it was actually a great time. Although, the team needs a superstar, someone that’s washed up from European soccer to get this organization going. I wanted my childhood idol Ronaldinho but they stuck out on that. If they were smart they would sign Ronaldo in 5 years when he’s old and they would literally sell out every game. The ball is in your court Fire Execs.
