10 Essential Christmas Rap Songs

Christmas music is cool, but after awhile it gets way too repetitive. Its ok though, because like always rap saves the day and gives you fresh new songs for the holidays. Here are 10 essential Christmas rap songs to turn all your holiday festivities lit by just pressing play.

Christmas in Harlem – Kanye West, Teyana Taylor, Cyhi The Prynce

One of the best feel good christmas songs comes from Kanye and his crew, where he used a Marvin Gaye sample to bring together this hit. It’s been 6 years since it dropped and I still always blast it this time of year. S/o to Teyana Taylor, who really steals the show on this one.

Christmas in Hollis – Run DMC

This was the start of holiday rap and should be played this weekend no matter what. Not only did Run DMC break down Barriers for rap as a sound, they also made it possible for rap to expand to the Christmas genre. Salute to the OG’s.

Santa Claus Goes Straight To The Ghetto- Snoop Dogg, Daz Dillinger, Nate Dogg, Bad Azz, and Tray Dee

As much as Suge Knight is hated, you have to love him for giving a us a classic Christmas album. Nate Dogg’s hook is amazing on this, along with snoop who delivers a fire verse. Turn on this and bring some Death Row vibes to your Christmas party.

Playa’s Ball – Outkast

This song doesn’t have much Christmas in it except for a few lines and the sleigh bells in the beat. But what’s better than Outkast during This time of year? Nothing. This is a perfect song for any Christmas party.

Dipset Xmas Time- Jim Jones

Jim jones dropped a whole christmas album back in 2006 and this was my favorite off of it. It’s dope how he took elements of original Christmas songs on this and bodied the beat. Dipset stays winning.

St. Brick Intro – Gucci Mane

The east Atlanta santa was back at it again in 2016 and gave us a Christmas song to blast for decades. Gucci goes crazy over this beat by zaytoven, who incorporates jingle bells into it. Gucci is top 5 most creative rappers dead or alive, Don’t @ Me.

Merry Muthaphukkin Christmas – Eazy-E

This is probably one of the funniest Christmas song ever, where Eazy-E basically spins every Christmas hit in history with his own twist. This is also low key one of the most genius Christmas songs of the past half century.

I Wish – Dogg Pound

Again thank you Suge, Dogg Pound on Christmas is exactly what everybody needs. The beat is so west coast and each rapper drops verses that are actually very deep. Give me Eggnog & Hennessy and this song for Christmas and I’m good.

Stranger At The Table – Jeremih & Chance the Rapper

For the record it was so hard to pick just one track from this new mixtape, but if I had to guess which song will be played for decades after 2016 its this one. Jeremih uses pieces from the Jackson 5’s “Want You Back” that gives every listener nostalgia. After that, Chance comes in with some creative, catchy verses to add to this dope track.

Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer – DMX

This is an obviously one here, DMX is such a G. Someone asked him to do this song and he executed it perfectly. His Ad-lib game is so strong here that it’s truly inspiring. Even your grandma will appreciate if you put this on during your party, trust me.
