Recap: Marc E. Bassy Live at Subterranean

Marc E Bassy

Marc E. Bassy has come a long way from his days as the lead vocalist for the band 2AM Club. It was a long time ago, over 6 years ago to be exact, since I last saw Marc perform. Back then he was touring with the band at The Rave in Milwaukee where they opened up for Mike Posner and Far East Movement. Despite not knowing the group, their live show caught my attention and interest. Fast forward to today and Marc still has a dynamic live show that continues to catch my attention and interest. We were able to witness that live set in person tonight at Sub-T thanks to the good folks over at Republic Records.

Tonight’s show was kicked off by ELHAE, yet another artist coming out of the ever-growing Atlanta music scene. I’ll throw this out there now: he sure is someone we will keep an eye on for future POD coverage. The man of the hour stepped on stage soon after to perform in front of his sold-out crowd. All of the years of hard work with the band and solo success surely made this possible. Marc had the crowd at the palm of his hands singing word for word the entire night. Fans were treated to performances of songs off of his EP’s, including Groovy People EP, his most recent work.

Despite Sub-T being a very intimate venue, Marc felt he needed to get even closer to his crowd. What better way to accomplish that than performing in the actual crowd? Well, Marc did just that by performing songs like “Morning” and “Dirty Water” in the crowd with his keyboard! You don’t see that happen often at shows, so his fans were truly treated to something special tonight. To end his set, Marc made his way back to the main stage through his mob of fans to perform his hit single, “You & Me.” Perfect ending to a great night of live music at a venue that has seen many great performances within its walls over the years.

Although a majority of the remaining shows on The Groovy People Tour are sold out, you can try and see if one of Marc’s upcoming shows in a city near you are still available. Click HERE to see remaining dates. You don’t want to miss out.
