Saba feat. Noname – “Church / Liquor Store”

Saba

Saba has shared his latest song, a collaboration with Noname titled “Church/Liquor Store.” The song works as a snapshot of Chicago’s West Side, a place Saba calls home and a place that he holds conflicting emotions towards for due to the dire environment that has been brewing there.

Saba’s walk-through of the WS is scored a super dope, super Hip Hop beat produced by Cam O’bi. What else can we say about Noname’s verse? Without even hearing you should already know that she slays it, and once you hear it you’ll feel better for it.

The most hard-hitting line in this whole track comes at the very end via a sound clip of a phone in which the caller reminds Saba, “Keep us alive in those verses.” So chilling and yet so fitting. Hear “Church/Liquor Store” below via NPR.

Bucket List Project comes out Oct. 27 on Saba Pivot, LLC. Pre-orders are available now.
