Recap: Our Favorite Moments at AAHH! Fest 2016

AAHH! Fest made its big return this year after taking a year off at its inaugural year in 2014. The two-day festival took place this past weekend at Union Park featuring performances by Taylor Bennett, Tink, The Internet, Sir The Baptist, Vic Mensa, R. Kelly, J. Cole, Ice Cube, Common, Bilal and more. There were tons of highlights including another great performance by festival creator, Common. Below we have listed some of our favorite moments from the fest.

Ice Cube Performing “Today Was A Good Day”

Even though Cube only performed three songs, the crowd went absolutely nuts when Common ended one of his rhymes with “Straight Outta Compton.” Cube stormed out and killed his set. His performance of “Today Was A Good Day” was surely my favorite.

Sir The Baptist Performing “Raise Hell”

Backed by his band, Sir The Baptist had the AAHH! Fest crowd vibing out very early into the fest on Sunday afternoon with his performance of “Raise Hell.” If you have not seen Sir The Baptist perform live, you need to do that asap.

Vic Mensa Performing “16 Shots”

Vic Mensa had a very powerful performacne of “16 Shots” at Lolla earlier this year and even though his performance of the song at AAHH! Fest wasn’t on that level, it will still a sight to be seen. His entire set was only 4-5 songs, but Vic Mensa on an empty stage won the crowd over very quickly.

J. Cole and Jeremih’s Performance of “Planes”

Jeremih had a early set in the day, so him making an appearance during J. Cole’s set seemed unlikely. J. Cole proved me wrong and brought out the Chicago star towards the end of his set. The two killed their performance of their hit single, “Planes.”

Below is a gallery of pics I captured at the fest.
