Metallica have released new song “Moth Into Flame,” the second track from forthcoming album Hardwired…to Self-Destruct. The band world premiered the song on The Howard Stern Show this morning on SiriusXM and shortly after debuted the video for the song. The visuals directed Tom Kirk show the band in a dark room barely illuminated by hanging lights as they play the song with flying insects fill the air surrounding them. There are also a few shots thrown in with a bug’s eye perspective, looking at the band. You wouldn’t think moths would be all that hardcore, until you see a mob of them wildly coming at you; that’s some Horror film shit!

And about the song itself… Man, it’s good to see these guys back to their Thrashing ways.

Hardwired…to Self-Destruct will be available starting on November 18th on the band’s Blackened Recordings label.

Following a performance at Global Citizen Festival this past Saturday in Central Park, Metallica announced a special intimate performance tomorrow, September 27th at Webster Hall for their Fifth Member fan club members. All proceeds from the show will be donated to City Harvest.
On Thursday, September 29th the band will perform their current single “Hardwired” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Fans can tune in at 11:35/10:35c on NBC (check local listings).
