Video: The Strokes Perform “Drag Queen” and “Threat Of Joy” at Governors Ball

Day 1 of Governors Ball was capped by a magisterial headlining performance from hometown boys The Strokes. The band’s set was a can’t-miss one, inspiring people to fly in from all parts of the world ranging from places as close as Chicago (like myself) and as far as New Zealand (met some Kiwis, awesome partiers lol) to catch it.

Julian Casablancas and the boys played all of their iconic hits from “The Modern Age” to “Last Nite” to “Reptilia” and set closer “You Only Live Once.” Also making their set were tracks off their new EP, Future Present Past. The new tracks that we got to see performed live were “Drag Queen” (shown above) and “Threat Of Joy” and much to my surprise, they were all received extremely well and just about everyone around me actually knew the lyrics too.

Check below for video of “Threat Of Joy” and more clips including a cover of The Clash.
