PARTYNEXTDOOR – Come and See Me ft. Drake

pnd

To kick off the anticipation for his newest project P3, PARTYNEXTDOOR released this gem late last night…

PND dropped this somber beaut around midnight, (I’m sure with the intention of getting everyone in their 2am feels) but it features Drake who brings a meaningful, quotable verse that hits home. The timing couldn’t have been any better, and really set up for the Saturday post-party feels and activities.

The track begins with PARTY being on the East side with his gang, and sends out that late night text, “Well do you wanna hang right now?” In which she asks if he realizes the time and “It’s after 2am, thats a lot to ask of her right now,” realizing the different possibilities/intentions for this text.

This song goes back and forth with either person not showing enough effort, and it’s over the simple fact of well, you can’t just come and see me for once. Nonetheless, Drake explains in his verse how she should stick with him and whoever tries to take his spot doesn’t even compare; “Just cause he got a heart, don’t mean he got heart” and “He could be standing in the field, but he still ain’t in the field.” The duo precisely hits great points on this generation’s ‘situationships’ all while including factors such as pride, constant change, and where true interest lies.

There are so many quotables from this track, which is expected from two lyrical stars, however, my favorite would have to be, “I hear ya talking about ‘we’ a lot, oh you speak French now?”

He also revealed via Twitter that it was produced by Noah “40” Shebib. 40 has produced many of Drake’s hits such as Summer Sixteen along with my 2015 favorites Jungle and Madonna.

Take a moment to let this duo serenade you below.

(Side note, you may have this on repeat for awhile as well.) Enjoy.

So while you await Drake’s Views from the 6, that’s to drop in April, you can also finally look forward to a new project by PND. 2016 is already quite the year for OVO.
