Video: The Foo Fighters’ 20th Anniversary Concert Featured Dave Grohl Playing From A Giant Throne

At the end of last month, fans rejoiced with the news that the Foo Fighters would keep the show going and continue touring despite lead singer Dave Grohl’s broken leg. The first show for the band was their 4th of July/20th anniversary blowout in our nation’s capital, which saw Grohl’s triumphant return to the stage in a giant motorized throne.

The concert took placeĀ at Washington, D.C.ā€™s RFK Stadium with opening acts including the likes of Buddy Guy, Gary Clark Jr., Joan Jett, and LL Cool J. Dave and the band kicked things off with “Everlong” then proceeded to talk about the nasty fall that led to the creation of the glorious throne. You’d think being stuck in a cast would be a real drag, but Grohl found a way to make it be badass. I love me some Kanye West and all that, but this makeĀ a massive caseĀ for Dave Grohl holding the title of the biggest rock star on the planet.
