Foo Fighters – “Something From Nothing”

Foo Fighters - Sonic Highways Chicago

The new Foo Fighters single is here! The Steve Albini (In Utero) -produced song is called “Something From Nothing” and it has clear connections to the city where it was recorded, Chicago.

The music is reminiscent of 70’s Rock with its slow build and big chorus, not to mention the crunching riffs. It’s still very much a Foo track through and through. The lyrics pay homage to Chicago’s history with “here lies the city on fire,” “it all started with a spark,” and “washed that man (hand? can’t tell too well which one is it) with muddy water” all making Windy City references; not to mention Chicago went to “Something From Nothing” after The Great Chicago Fire.

Basically, it kicks ass!

Sonic Highways will officially be released on November 10th via Rockwell Recordings. Hear the new song below.
