Julian Casablancas’ new side project away from The Strokes has finally arrived. With the help of new backing band The Voidz, JC’s Tyranny has already turned some heads thanks to its heavy new sound, far from the synth-heavy production on his first solo effort. The first looks at this project have pointed to a grittier sound, a direction many a Strokes fan would appreciate.
Tyranny is due out Tuesday, September 23 on Casablancas’ label, Cult Records.
