For the final installment of “Beatles Tribute Week” on The Late Show with David Letterman, the show featured none other than Lauryn Hill covering “Something.” Written by “the quiet Beatle,” this song has been considered one of the best ever (definitely in my top 10 list) and even Frank Sinatra thought it to be the band’s best love song. Lauryn Hill’s version was pretty good as well. Compared to the original, this cover had a sped up tempo and even feels like it has a faint Caribbean twist. See that above.

The week-long tribute was celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ arrival in America with performances from Broken Bells, Sting, Flaming Lips, and Lenny Kravitz at The Ed Sullivan Theater, where The Beatles first played to American audiences and is now the studio where Letterman currently tapes. Don’t miss the two-hour special, The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute to the Beatles, which airs Sunday at 8 p.m. EST on CBS featuring Alicia Keys, John Legend, Gary Clark, Jr., and John Mayer are some of the big stars set to perform that evening.
