Recap: Imagine Dragons Fan Fest Concert In Nola

We definitely started off the 2014 year with a bang.  We attended an outdoor performance by alternative rock sensation, Imagine Dragons. It took place outside of the Jackson Brewery, in the city of New Orleans, on New Years Day for the Allstate Fan Fest. The concert was a kick off preparation for the New Orleans Allstate Sugar Bowl, between the University of Alabama Crimson Tide and Oklahoma University Sooners.

The band kicked off the evening with the song, “Round and Round.” The rest of the night Imagine Dragons played hits from their 2012 album, Night Visions. One of my favorite parts of the concert was when lead singer Dan Reynolds started talking with the crowd about his post concert plans. “I’m going to get those doughnuts. What are they called?”, as the crowd screamed out “Beignets.” He also called the famous New Orleans Muffaletta sandwich “an olive sandwich.”

The concert ended after an amazing rendition of “Radioactive.” After the concert, thousands of Imagine Dragons enthusiasts poured out of the event grounds proudly representing their school colors and counting down until the big game.
