Recap: Chance The Rapper Live at the Metro (5.25.13)

Since last night there was a Chano show, as per usual, we were there to see him perform. The venue was none other than the same venue that grew to be a real icon for the city as it famously hosted bands like Nirvana and the Smashing Pumpkins in the early 90’s, the Metro. This night it was home to the new music of Chicago’s youth, fronted by one of the shining stars of this city’s thriving Hip Hop generation.

Sir Michael Rocks was on hand to open the show, doing an adequate job at getting the crowd pumped. Side note, after the show SMR had a chat with comedian Hannibal Buress, who roasted him for wearing what he called a shirt-dress. See a clip of his performance below.

Once it was time for the headliner to hit the stage, Chance opened up with 10Day fan-favorites “Hey Ma” and “Brain Cells;” you can tell the crowd there was well-versed with the earlier material as a great majority of them sang along loudly and proudly to his every word. See those performances below.
