Dave Grohl’s documentary about legendary California recording studio, Sound City, will have an all-new original album of music created exclusively for it.

We got a first look over the last week with the song “Cut Me Some Slack,” from Paul McCartney and the surviving members of Nirvana (Krist Novoselic, Pat Smear and Grohl himself), which is available for download instantly with every pre-order.

More details on the new album after the jump.

The new tracks feature a legendary cast of collaborators including Paul McCartney, Grohl’s former Nirvana and current Foo Fighters bandmates, Stevie Nicks, Rick Springfield, Trent Reznor, Joshua Homme of Queens of the Stone Age, Rick Nielsen of Cheap Trick, Lee Ving of Fear, Corey Taylor of Slipknot, Brad Wilk and Tim Commerford of Rage Against The Machine.

Film and album are both available for pre-order on iTunes: http://bit.ly/SoundCity-iTunes
