Recap: Rittz Live at Subterranean

Slumerican’s very own Rittz made his way to Chicago last week for a show at Subterranean  as a part of The Revival Tour. The show may not have been sold-out, but the crowd was present was very responsive to each artist that hit the stage. Some of the opening acts at the show are some of our favorite artists coming out of Chicago including Chandler London and Scheme, plus The Extraordinary G’z from Austin, Texas.

Stefan Ponce handled the DJing duties for this show. Stefan remained on stage as Chandler London came on with his hype man. They went on to perform many songs off Science of Sleep, London’s album that was released last year. His live show is arguably one of the best of any hip hop artist coming up in Chicago. Chandler was joined by Auggie The 9th towards the end of his set for their “Holler” track off of the City of Win mixtape that was released earlier this year.

Scheme hit the stage alongside DJ Scend and guitarist Oscar Castillo, who was featured on the recently released “The Dive.”  Scheme once again stole the show with his very well put together set and definitely won over some new fans. He was joined by Astonish to perform “Hello” off of the Life That I Chose EP towards the end of the set.

Rittz hit the stage and didn’t disappoint as he effortlessly flowed through many of his tracks off of his mixtape, White Jesus: Revival. Tracks like “Bloody Murdah” and “High Five” were some of the standout performances. Rittz even performed a freestyle over Ca$h Out’s Cashin Out single mid way through his set. One of my favorite performances from Rittz’ set was definitely his verse on Yelawolf’s Box Chevy.  Check out some footage of Rittz performance down below.
