Recap: Fader & Vitamin Water Uncapped feat. Wale & Santigold

Thursday night’s Fader and Vitamin Water uncapped event was a success. The night was filled with great music and plenty of Vitamin Water and PBR to go around.  The music for the night was kicked off by Maseo of the legendary Hip Hop trio, De la Soul.  He kept the crowd at the Marquardt Trucking Company building entertained before Power 92’s DJ Pharris stepped onto the stage as the night’s host.

DJ Pharris kept things short (yet entertaining) and promptly introduced the first act of the night was the extravagant and quirky Philly rapper, Santigold. That description was more than justified when she came on to the stage riding a horse. Santigold’s performance was filled with a lot of energy and pretty good music to go along with it. Soon after her set was finished, Maseo was brought back to the stage and jumped on the tables to entertain the crowd with some of Hip Hop’s latest hits until Wale’s DJ would have to take over.

Wale hit the stage performing his very popular “Bait” track off of his last mixtape. Wale definitely switched things up for this show by performing that track so early into a set when he usually performs it as a closing song.  To Wale’s defense, he has plenty of  songs in his catalog to work with so that had no type of negative effect on his show.  He performed songs off both of his studio albums Attention Deficit and Ambition. Wale was later joined by Melanie Fiona to perform their collaboration “Beautiful Bliss” off of his first album.  Wale closed his 40-minute plus set by performing his remixes of  “Rack City” and “Make It Rain.”

Huge shout outs go out to Vitamin Water for setting up yet another great event.  We will be looking forward to their next event in Chicago and we will keep everyone updated whenever anything is announced.
