Lyon’s newest kit for the 2012-’13 season will get the 3D treatment.
The creation of the shirt has an interesting back story. Lyon was home to the Lumier brothers, which were filming pioneers. The latest innovation/craze in the film industry is 3D, so the pioneering home team of the film industry wanted to honor this craze by incorporating that technology to their shirt.
Olympique Lyonnais, which plays in France’s Ligue 1, will be sporting these “high-tech” shirts sporadically because the team is making these their 3rd kit.
Check out the video that was released to give you the history behind why the new kit will have 3D images.
